Hi guys! My name is Dana Nieuwkerk and I am a senior at USF, studying Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB). I cannot wait to travel the state and explore different ecosystems with you all :) I grew up in the Poconos in Pennsylvania, doing a lot of hiking and rafting; it wasn't until I moved to the Ft. Lauderdale that I got to explore my love for marine life. I SCUBA dive down south mostly (Ft. Lauderdale/Keys) but have done a couple dives in Crystal River, just north of Tampa. I am continuing into the master's program at USF for CMB but intend to focus my research on marine biology - I am particularly interested in virology. Looking forward to meeting you all next week!
