He's like a big, dumb dog.

Looe Key Reef - spur and groove type of reef formation
Thursday, we all woke up early to catch a charter boat with Looe Key Reef Resort & Dive Center. At first, the weather didn't look that great at first, but it cleared up fantastically rather quickly. The reef was beautiful in the clear blue water full of fish, corals, sponges, and algae of all different types.
The captain introduced us to their "resident" Goliath grouper how my title is named! After spending about 3 hours out on the water, we headed to Mote Marine Lab. There Dr. Voss gave us a tour of the facilities. He told us about the different experiments on coral growth the scientists at the lab are conducting. Piling back into the van, Dr. Hanisak drove us to Bahia Honda. There we looked through sea grasses pushed up onto the beach by waves. We found everything from onions to sponges to coral skeletons. I wouldn't want to swim with the loose sea grass but, other than that, the water was beautiful and clean with plenty of happy swimmers.
