Beauuuu, Gregory!

The Beau Gregory, or the Stegastes leucostictus, is a perch-like damsel fish. Its natural habitat is a reef-associated, non-migratory marine fish with many fins and forked tails. The identifying factor in the beau gregory's are the distinct, deep blue on the dorsal half of the fish, while the the coloring on the bottom is a bright yellow.

I saw this fish in almost every reef area, including Cheeca Rock, Zane Gray Bank, and Looe Key. The distinct coloring truly caught my eye and the precision of travel was interesting. In later research, I learned that these fish are non-migratory and that they stay within 50 cm of the reef itself.
